If you only read one thing for your first trip to Lake Como, this will have you covered.

GENERAL

• The towns are relatively far apart and it’s not very easy to travel from one to another by car. There are a few ferry routes if you’d like to get from the Tremezzo side of the lake to Bellagio (or vice versa).

• Bellagio and Cernobbio are the best towns to explore along the lake. If you’re not staying in Bellagio, definitely come for a day to walk around.

BOAT DAY

• The best way to see the beautiful villas and experience the magic of Lake Como is by boat.

  • Book a boat tour for a day or a few hours via Como Classic Boats. All of the boats are classic wood and the experience is luxury (though not cheap).
