🦪 SAINT-TROPEZ
If you only read one thing for your next trip to St. Tropez, this will have you covered.
I previously published a broader guide to the South of France. It covers Cannes, Antibes, Èze, and Saint-Paul de Vence. I recommend pairing a few days in St. Tropez with another destination on the Côte d'Azur. My recommendations here:
Table of Contents:
ST. TROPEZ
TO KNOW
If you’re staying in town, you’ll have to drive to most of the best beach clubs and restaurants. The drive from town to Pampelonne beach is 50€ in each direction.
If you’re pairing a trip to Saint-Tropez with other destinations on the Côte d'Azur, it definitely makes sense to rent a car.
If you’re going directly to Saint-Tropez, I recommend Blacklane for the airport transport. It’s ~ a 2 hour drive from Nice.
Don’t leave without having some (or a lot of) Tarte tropézienne.
BEACH CLUBS
*Beach clubs have 2 seatings, first at 12.30 and the second one at 3.30pm. Sun beds have to be reserved in advance, in addition to lunch.
⭐ Le Club 55 - The spot! Can’t miss it. Order the Crudités a la Club 55 and Berry Tart for dessert.
Les Graniers - 15-minute walk from town. A beautiful, more lowkey beach club. Toes in the sand kind of place and it’ll save you from driving to Pampelonne Beach another day. Les Graniers feels less done up than many of the other beach clubs (in a good way).
DINNER
*Restaurants have 2 seatings for dinner, the first one at 7.30pm and the second one at 10.30pm.
⭐ Les Moulins de Ramatuelle - Lantern lighting, terracotta clay pots, & a bocce court. The most spectacular garden to eat in, and the food is delicious! A perfect romantic dinner spot where you will definitely want to stay a while.
Kinugawa Ramatuelle - quality sushi, dinner in a garden, and a vibe that picks up at night.
Les Graniers - Toes in the sand dinner. It’s romantic, but casual. They’re known for their langoustines. (Book on Dorsia ;))
Salama - Moroccan restaurant that is walkable from town and great for large parties. This place picks up at night too! (Book on Dorsia ;))
L’Opera - Dinner and a show! A fun spot to come with a large group, and feels like everyone should come here at least once.
GOING OUT
AROUND THE TOWN
Cafe Senequir - Notable for its red awning. Get a seat in the sun, enjoy a vogue cigarette & an orange spritz, and don’t move for a few hours. Best spot to sit in town, looking out onto the port.
Le Tigrr - A really nice hip new bar with an amazing terrace. Come for a drink before dinner.
WHERE TO STAY
Airelles Saint-Tropez, Château de la Messardière - ($$$) The most beautiful 5* hotel nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean. This place feels special and gives you a good taste of the beautiful landscapes of St. Tropez. Obviously, at a price.
Hotel La Ponche - ($$) Well-priced amongst the options in St. Tropez. Exactly the definition of a ‘boutique hotel’. Great concierge & staff teams, ideal location, and really tasteful design.
